Change Project

Prerequisites

Access Level:User, Admin (when forcefully tag/untag projects)
Permission Requirements
  • . Basic Project Interaction
    • View projects they are a member of
    • View other members in projects they are a member of
    • View own security requirement certifications
    • Classify resources with projects they are active in
  • . Project Management
    • Declassify resources tagged with projects they manage

Tag Files with a Project

bulk-action

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the file(s) you want to tag with a project.
  4. Click the Open Full Menu button in the top center panel.
  5. Select Change Project.
  6. In the prompt, enter or select the project name to tag the file(s) with.
  7. Click Classify.
note

Only admins and super-admins can override file permissions to change projects.

caution

You cannot re-tag files from different projects simultaneously.

Missing Permissions

Ask Your Admin for Classifying Permissions
You must ask your admin to allow you to classify resources from the manual permission management in your profile.
Not Owning the File or Directory
Failed to update project tag for file-or-directory-name: Cannot classify a file you do not own.
Ask File or Directory Owner to Apply Project Tag
You cannot project-tag files or directories you do not own. Ask the file or directory owner to apply the project tag. Alternatively, if permitted by your admin, download the file or directory, re-upload it to your vault under a new name, and then apply the desired project tag. The original file will remain under the owner's control.
Unable to Tag File or Directory Via Locked Project
When hovering in change project prompt, you cannot select project-name to tag your resource.
Get Certified for Project's Security Requirements

You cannot tag file or directory with locked project because you do not satisfy the project's security requirements.

To view your unmet requirements:
  • In your Vault, navigate to the Projects tab on the top right panel.
  • Next, scroll down to the project you want to tag the file with.
  • Click the number-of-unmet-requirements unmet requirements.
  • In the new prompt, under Security Requirments view the existing security requirements you satisfy.
  • Finally, ask your Admin how to get certified for all security requirements of the specified project.

Untag Files from a Project

bulk-action

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the file(s) you want to untag from a project.
  4. Click the Open Full Menu button in the top center panel.
  5. Select Change Project.
  6. In the prompt, select No project (unlocked).
  7. Click Declassify.

Ask Your Admin to Forcefully Declassify the Resource
You are not permitted to declassify this resource due to system restrictions (e.g., your user role). Please contact your admin to perform a forceful declassification.
Missing Permissions
Failed to update project tag for file-name.file-format: Unable to perform action, missing permissions..
Ask Your Admin for Declassifying Permissions
You must ask your admin to allow you to declassify resources from the manual permission management in your profile.

Forcefully Override Rules to Retag Files with a Project

bulk-action

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the file(s) you want to forcefully tag with a project.
  4. Click the Open Full Menu button in the top center panel.
  5. Select Change Project.
  6. In the prompt, enter or select the project name to tag the file(s).
  7. Tick Use my permission to override rules, re-tag resources with any visible project, regardless of current project relations to override rules as a super-admin for files that are not part of the project.
  8. Click Force change with admin privilege.

Recursively Tag All Files in a Directory with a Project

bulk-action

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the directory(ies) you want to tag with a project.
  4. Click the Open Full Menu button in the top center panel.
  5. Select Change Project.
  6. In the prompt, enter or select the project name to tag the directory(ies).
  7. Tick Recursively apply the permission change to change the project of all files within the selected directory.
  8. Click Classify.
note

You can only bulk select directories that are either untagged by project or have the same project tag.

Tag Files or Directories with a Subproject

bulk-action

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the file(s) or directory(ies) you want to tag with a subproject.
  4. Click the Open Full Menu button in the top center panel.
  5. Select Change Project.
  6. In the prompt, enter or select the subproject name to tag the file or directory with.
  7. Click Classify.

Untag Files from a Subproject

bulk-action

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the file(s) you want to untag from a subproject.
  4. Click the Open Full Menu button in the top center panel.
  5. Select Change Project.
  6. In the prompt, select No project (unlocked).
  7. Click Declassify.
